I have 36yrs within the fitness industry and started out at Bournemouth Athletic Club in the early 80’s competing for Bournemouth all over the south and then coaching sprints and running the under 16’s Hampshire league for a couple of years.
I moved from sprints to aerobics in the late 80’s , creating Hopscotch Aerobics and ran classes in private and local council heath centres in the Bournemouth area.
Adding a qualification as a Personal Trainer with Premier in 1990 , I also competed in the National Aerobic Championships and came 3rd.
I worked with Nordic Track 1995-1996 selling and presenting their cross country ski fitness equipment at shops and exhibitions - and I was never as fit, cardiovascularly speaking, as I was working out every day on their equipment.
After having my children Thomas 23 and Alexandra 19 , in 2001 I retrained and qualified to teach Pilates with the Pilates Institute in London.
I began teaching classes locally, and until Covid I worked as an associate of Boyd Physiotherapy in Lymington, teaching all levels of Pilates in clinic as patients and classes for over 20yrs.
I am a member of the Fitness Professional and have loved teaching the Pilates technique from the moment I found it and at 52 I am stronger and more supple than I have ever been.
